Supporting & nurturing the physical, mental
& emotional wellbeing of women in Nottingham

We plan, develop and deliver creative arts and wellbeing-focussed projects, talks and events in Nottingham, to bring women together in tackling growing issues surrounding feelings of isolation and loneliness. We promote friendship, connection and a deep sense of community, so that ALL women feel safe and valued when attending our events.
When Women Gather is a not-for-profit community Interest Company and we pride ourselves on working in partnership with other arts and wellbeing-related organisations in

Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Building a creative & cultural Nottingham

Since founding our organisation in 2019, our creative team has been working closely with women of all ages in Nottingham to establish the needs of different age groups and communities in Nottingham.

Thanks to support from organisations, such as Arts Council England, The National Lottery Community Fund and Groundwork, we are able to curate and deliver community-led projects that help us to meet the physical, mental and emotional needs of groups of women in

We work with the following groups:

  • Mums and their pre-schoolers, young children and teens

  • Women from all faiths and cultures

  • Women experiencing peri-menopause and menopause

  • Women experiencing difficult and abusive relationships

  • Women experiencing poor/distressing mental and emotional health, due to personal and/or work-related issues

  • Women in various ages groups - 40s, 50, 60s and beyond

We are proud of our project work and also of the women who invest their time and energy into advising us on their needs and the activities and art-forms they enjoy the best. Feedback on our co-led projects has been outstanding and it's thanks to this that we are guided in moving forward and creating further opportunities to enhance and improve the wellbeing of women in Nottingham.

Our most recent flagship project, Voices of Identity, supported by Arts Council England, took place during the pandemic from January until September 2021. Thanks to national lockdowns and the accessibility of online conferencing software, we were able to engage over 300 women in a multi-disciplinary arts project through the platform of Zoom. Women joined us from Nottingham, The Midlands, all over the UK, and internationally too!
